Big Ninth Inning Pushes Green Knights Past Greenville

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College won its third straight game with a 10-6 win over Greenville College at Lake Myrtle Park.

The Green Knights (3-2) scored four times in the top of the ninth inning to snap a 6-6 stalemate. Jordan Powers stroked a two-out two-run single to give the Green Knights an 8-6 lead. Matt Hannon followed with a run-scoring single and Garrick Fisher drew a bases-loaded walk to finish off the rally.

St. Norbert scored four times in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. Hannon had an RBI single and later came around to score on a throwing error. Chris Laux added a two-run single with two outs in the inning.

The Green Knights got single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Troy Rottier scored on a throwing error in the fifth, and Fisher scored in the sixth on a wild pitch.

St. Norbert finished the game with 13 hits. Hannon was 3-for-6 with a run scored and two RBIs. Powers, Fisher and Laux were all 2-for-4.

Chris Hillesheim earned the win with four innings of relief, allowing two hits for one earned run with one walk and two strikeouts.
