Green Knights Romp to Sherman-Lukoski Invite Title

RIPON - St. Norbert College opened the northern outdoor track and field season with the title of the Ripon College Sherman-Lukoski Invitational at Ingalls Field.

The Green Knights totaled 220 points to easily outdistance runner-up Milwaukee School of Engineering, which had 192 points. Ripon was third with 155 points.

St. Norbert had two relay teams claim wins. The 4x100-meter relay team of Tyler Seidl, Brent Schreiber, Taylor Pasterski and Justin Johnson won in a time of 43.51 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay quartet of Jake Schneider, James Montgomery, Mike Linzmeier and Andrew Hull finished with a time of 3:33.39.

Johnson won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.84 seconds, while Pasterski won the 100-meter dash in 11.33 seconds.

Patrick Sweetman won the javelin throw with a distance of 143 feet 11 inches, while Mike Verfuerth claimed the long jump with a leap of 20-3 1/2.

Logan Jadin was second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:16.08, and Verfuerth was second in the 110 hurdles in 16.05 seconds. Schneider was runner-up in the 400-meter dash in 51.92 seconds, and David Proster was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.01.

Bryon Betts placed second in the discus with a heave of 129 feet 5 inches.
