St. Norbert Finishes Third at Prairie Fire Classic

PEORIA, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished third out of 13 teams at the Knox College Prairie Fire Classic at Weaver Ridge Golf Club.

The Green Knights shot a season-low round 313 on the first day followed by a 324 to finish with a 637. The University of Dubuque won the meet with a 628, followed by runner-up Monmouth College one stroke back. Iowa Wesleyan College's Blake Mitchell was the individual champion with an 83-70--153.

St. Norbert's Joe Martin finished in a tie for second place with a 154. Martin shot a 72 to lead the field after day one but finished with an 82 to finish one stroke behind Mitchell.

Jacob Hebbard finished in a tie for ninth place with an 83-74--157. Brandon Gries placed 13th with a 78-81--159. Nic Vrubley was tied for 32nd with an 80-88--168, while Nick Roelse finished 46th with a 91-87--178.
