St. Norbert Finishes Second at Wisconsin Lutheran Invite

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College finished in second place at the 12-team Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational at Raabe Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 165.5 points to finished 23 points behind first-place Carroll University's 188.5 points. Ripon College was third with 113 points.

Bryon Betts won the discus throw with a toss of 143 feet 7 inches, while Bob Krueger won the javelin throw with a heave of 151 feet. Justin Johnson claimed a win in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.61 seconds.

St. Norbert's distance medley relay of Alex Clemetson, Jake Schneider, Alex Zangl and Michael Heise won with a time of 11:14.05. The 800-meter sprint medley relay of Andrew Verfuerth, Mike Verfuerth, Tyler Seidl and Schneider won with a time of 1:36.70. The 4x400-meter relay quartet of Taylor Pasterski, Schneider, Ryan Ascher and Johnson won with a time of 3:27.22.

Brent Schreiber, Mike Verfuerth and Andrew Jacobson took the top three places in the long jump with distances of 23 feet, 22-6 1/4 and 21 feet, respectively.

James Montgomery was second in the high jump with a height of 5-10 3/4. Nathan Heppe was second int he 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:06.17. Jacobson took third in the triple jump with a distance of 40-7 3/4.
