Brunette Paces St. Norbert All-Midwest Conference Selections

DE PERE - St. Norbert College junior shortstop Steph Brunette was selected Midwest Conference North Division Positional Player of the Year for the second consecutive year to lead five Green Knights named to the All-MWC squad.

Also named to the All-MWC North Division team were freshman infielder Samantha Gross, junior infielder Brittany Narges, junior outfielder Morgan Buboltz and junior pitcher Shannen Schmidt.

Brunette finished the season hitting .444 to lead the Midwest Conference in batting average. Brunette also finished with 56 hits, 10 doubles, three triples and a .478 on-base percentage.

Buboltz hit .395 with team-highs of five home runs and 30 RBIs, and she also hit eight doubles. Gross hit .276 with five doubles and 14 RBIs. Narges hit .333 with two home runs and 13 runs batted in.

Schmidt ended the season 11-11 with a 2.83 earned run average and .246 batting average against. Schmidt struck out 101 hitters in 143 2/3 innings pitched.
