Schudrowitz Qualifes for NCAA National Meet

DE PERE - St. Norbert College senior Emily Schudrowitz qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Tack and Field Championships with the third-best time nationally in the 800-meter run.

Schudrowitz's time of 2 minutes 9.12 seconds is just shy of the top pace of 2:07.32 set by Roanoke's Carmen Graves. The trials in the 800 will take place at 9:10 p.m. CDT Friday with the championship race set for 6:20 p.m. Saturday at Burns Track Complex in Claremont, Calif.

Schudrowitz finished eighth at this year's indoor NCAA meet and was third at last year's outdoor nationals. Schudrowitz won the indoor 800 national title in 2010.

The Green Knights competed in the North Central College and UW-La Crosse last chance meets this past weekend. Schudrowitz, Erin McShea, Megan Domnick and Katherine Larson ran a time of 3:55.46 in the 4x400-meter relay at La Crosse Thursday before breaking their school record with a time of 3:53.41 at North Central on Friday.

The 4x100-meter relay of Mara Aparnieks, Kari Braatz, Domnick and Larson broke the school record with a time of 48.73 seconds at North Central.

Kelsey Timm was 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:22.39. Hope Kovala and Melissa Menne finished their careers with personal-best times. Kovala was 1:13.09 in the 400-meter hurdles and 16.74 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. Menne ran 2:28.95 in the 800-meter hurdles.
