CLAREMONT, Calif. - St. Norbert College senior Emily Schudrowitz enters Saturday's 800-meter run final at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships as the event's No. 1 seeding following a stellar performance at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges' Burns Track Complex.

Schudrowitz, running in the third of three preliminary heats, turned in an impressive time of 2 minutes 7.84 seconds to win her heat and get the top starting slot in the championship race. The only other preliminary time within one second of Schudrowitz was UW-Oshkosh's Christy Cazzola, who ran a time of 2:08.13.

The 800-meter final is slated for 6:20 p.m. CDT Saturday. Schudrowitz has one NCAA national championship to her credit, winning the indoor 800 in 2010.

The NCAA Division III championships record is 2:08.87 set in 2010 by Bethel University's Marie Borner.
