Green Knights Finish Ninth at National Catholic Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - St. Norbert College placed ninth at the National Catholic Cross Country Invitational held at the University of Notre Dame's Notre Dame Golf Course.

The Green Knights totaled 242 points. Aquinas College won the Division 2 meet with 50 points, while Lewis University was second with 98 points. Loras College was the top Division III school in the event with a third-place showing of 108 points. Bill Jones of Franciscan University won the meet by covering the 5-mile course in 24 minutes 22 seconds. A total of 21 teams and 170 runners competed.

Nathan Heppe led St. Norbert with a 37th-place finish in 26:42. Logan Jadin followed close behind with a time of 26:44 to finish 39th. Michael Heise finished in 52nd place with a time of 27:08, and Heath Hougas was 59th with a time of 27:16. Michael Linzmeier was 63rd with a time of 27:18.

Rounding out St. Norbert's top seven were Brady Bemis in 69th place with a time of 27:30 and Benny Swift in 85th place with a time of 27:53.
