Green Knights Open Tournament With Two Wins

DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened its own invitational with a pair of three-set wins over UW-River Falls and Finlandia University at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (12-6) topped River Falls 28-26, 25-23, 25-14 before routing Finlandia 25-5, 25-7, 25-9.

St. Norbert took advantage of 27 hitting errors by the Falcons, who dropped to 13-3 with the loss. Mary Kate Manion had nine kills to lead the Green Knights, while Danielle Remy added eight kills and Heidi Spies and Breanne Brocker had six apiece. Catherine Guido had 23 digs, while Abby West finished with 29 assists. Remy had five blocks, while Brocker had four. St. Norbert hit .205 as a team, connecting 34 times in 112 attempts with 11 errors.

The Green Knights had little trouble with Finlandia in a match that lasted just 40 minutes. Spies led St. NOrbert with 10 kills, while Libby Zimmerman added eight and Maddy Kaat had six. Kaitlin Delahaut totaled 30 assists, seven service aces and six digs. St. Norbert hit a whopping .522, with 36 kills in 67 attempts against just one error.
