St. Norbert Battles to Stalemate With Lake Forest

DE PERE - St. Norbert College rallied with a goal late in regulation time to force a 2-2 tie with Lake Forest College in a key Midwest Conference match on Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (8-2-2, 3-0-1 MWC) got the equalizer with 3 minutes 54 seconds left in regulation when Kaitlin Schmitz finished off a 3-on-1 scoring chance with Kellan Zimmer assisting.

Lake Forest (8-4-1, 6-0-1) got on the board with two goals in the first 13:03. Holly Lesperance scored at 11:59 and Michelle Greeneway followed with a trickler over the goal line at 13:03. St. Norbert got back into the game at 16:41 when Zimmer put in a rebound off the crossbar.

St. Norbert outshot Lake Forest 21-16, but the Foresters had eight corner kicks to the Green Knights' four. Sarah Platzer made three saves for St. Norbert, while Bri Schleibinger made six stops for Lake Forest.
