GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College claimed its fourth 1-0 win of the season by topping Grinnell College by that score in a Midwest Conference game at Springer Field.

The Green Knights (6-7-3, 3-3-2 MWC) needed a win to remain in contention for a MWC Tournament berth. Grinnell fell to 7-7-1, 4-4.

St. Norbert got the game's lone goal at the 14 minutes 32 seconds mark when Tommy Purdom scored his second goal of the season, with the marker coming unassisted. The Green Knights' defense made the score hold up over the final 75 minutes of action.

Grinnell outshot St. Norbert 15-9, including 9-4 in the second half. St. Norbert goalkeeper Noah Davis made nine saves in spinning the shutout. Isaiah Tyree made six stops for the Pioneers.

St. Norbert faces Ripon on Wednesday at Schneider Stadium and then closes out the regular season on Saturday at Knox. The Green Knights need two wins and some help in other games to secure the league's No. 4 seeding for the MWC Tournament.
