Green Knights Sweep Grinnell to Set Up MWC Title Showdown

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College won its 11th consecutive match with a 3-0 win over Grinnell College in a Midwest Conference match at Darby Gym. The Green Knights swept the Pioneers 25-20, 25-12, 25-14.

The win by the Green Knights (23-7, 9-0 MWC) sets up a decisive championship match at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cornell College, which is also 9-0 in league action. The winner will claim the 2012 MWC championship and will host the league tournament next weekend.

St. Norbert hit .197 for the match, getting 34 kills with 11 errors in 117 attempts.

Breanne Brocker recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs. Danielle Remy added seven kills with four blocks, while Mary Kate Manion had six kills and 11 digs.

Catherine Guido led the back row with 19 digs, while Abby West added 28 assists.
