Green Knights Win MWC Tournament Semifinal

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College advanced to the championship match of the Midwest Conference Tournament for the fifth straight year with a three-set win over Lake Forest College at Cornell College's Richard and Norma Small Multi-Sport Center.

The Green Knights (24-8) topped the Foresters (17-10) by scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 to advance to the championship match at 1 p.m. Saturday against Cornell or Monmouth College.

St. Norbert hit .250 for the match, including .333 in the final third set. The Green Knights totaled 43 kills against 12 errors in 124 attempts. Danielle Remy was the only St. Norbert spiker to reach double figures in kills, totaling 11. Mary Kate Manion added seven, while Heidi Spies, Breanne Brocker and Abby West rounded out the balanced attack with six apiece.

Catherine Guido had a match-high 18 digs, while Brocker added 15 and Manion 10. Spies had five blocks, while West and Remy each had three. West finished with 31 assists.

Molly McCloskey led Lake Forest with 12 kills, while Torie Pasiewicz had 29 assists and 10 digs.
