EAU CLAIRE - St. Norbert College recorded its first-ever win at Zorn Arena by claiming a 57-55 non-conference win over UW-Eau Claire.

The Green Knights, who have faced the Blugolds in non-conference matchups 22 times in the last 23 seasons, entered the game 0-10 all-time on Eau Claire's court. St. Norbert opens the season 3-0, while Eau Claire drops to 1-2.

St. Norbert used stingy defense late in the game to take control. The Green Knights led 37-36 with 9:04 to play when Krista Hawkinson started a 9-2 run with a 3-pointer. St. Norbert held a 46-38 lead on a 3-pointer by Megan Doody with 5:31 left before the Blugolds cut the deficit down to 46-43 with 3:36 to go.

The Green Knights boosted their lead back to nine points when Hawkinson converted a conventional three-point play with 1:30 left for a 52-43 advantage. Eau Claire made a last-ditch rally, scoring on five straight possessions to get to within 56-55 with two seconds left. Hawkinson split a pair of free throws, and Morgan Heim stole the ball as time expired to preserve the win.

St. Norbert led by as many as six points in the first half at 14-8 10 minutes into the game. The Blugolds finished the half on an 18-7 run to take a 26-21 lead at halftime. Eau Claire led 31-25 early in the second half before St. Norbert went on a 17-5 run to forge the lead.
