Green Knights Drop Home Opener to Augustana

DE PERE - St. Norbert College shot 34.6 percent from the floor en route to a 74-60 loss to Augustana College in the Green Knights' home opener on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (1-1) made just 18 of 52 field-goal attempts in the loss, and fell behind by as many as 17 points in the first half. Augustana (2-0) shot 42.4 percent (25-for-59) from the floor but offset that with 18 offensive rebounds, and held a commanding 43-26 edge on the glass in the game.

St. Norbert got one player in double figures with Brandon Gries' 13 points. Jack Whalen led the Green Knights off the bench with seven points.

Augustana got 18 points and 11 rebounds from Ben Ryan, while Griffin Pils connected for 16 points coming off the bench for the Vikings.
