Green Knights Handle Lakeland

DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended its winning streak to seven games with a 10-0 non-conference win over Lakeland College at Mel Nicks Field.

The Green Knights (16-6) scored in six of eight innings to cruise to the win. Three St. Norbert pitchers combined to hold the Muskies (8-22) to just two hits.

St. Norbert scored two runs in the second inning, plating runs on an Adam Frost RBI single and an Alex Byrne RBI single. Jared Yost scored the third run in the third inning on the back end of a double steal.

Mike Wallerich hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to score Byrne. Jordan Stauber stroked a two-run single to right in the sixth inning. Jared Yost had an RBI groundout and then came around to score on an infield error. Frost chipped in an RBI double in the eighth, and the final run came home on a Lakeland error.

Brett Yost worked the first two innings to pick up the win on the NCAA pitching prearrangement rule. Jake Gasser worked the next five innings, allowing just one hit. Byrne finished up with a hitless eighth inning.

Frost was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Wallerich was 2-for-2, Jordan Vater 2-for-3 and Stauber and Byrne were each 2-for-4. The Green Knights banged out 15 hits in the game.

Jared Yost, Tony Jandron and Frost each extended their consecutive game hitting streaks to 11.
