Zepeda Powers Green Knights Past St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College freshman forward Tyler Zepeda's four-point night lifted the Green Knights to a 6-1 win over the College of St. Scholastica in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Green Knights (9-2-1, 5-1-1 NCHA) took a 2-1 lead into the third period, but Zepeda helped put the game away with three goals in the final 20 minutes of action. Zepeda scored 22 seconds into the frame, and then added markers at 9:03 and 12:11 to give him eight goals on the season. Chris Rial's goal at 4:09 was St. Norbert's other score in the third.

St. Scholastica (3-8, 1-6) took a 1-0 lead at 3:11 of the second period on a goal by Eric Kraft. Sam Higgins drew St. Norbert even at 6:27 with his first goal of the season. Cullen Bradshaw scored a power-play goal for the eventual game-winning score at 15:40 of the second.

Zepeda added an assist for his four-point night, while Bradshaw had one assist for a two-point game.

St. Norbert outshot St. Scholastica 43-28. David Jacobson made 27 saves for the Green Knights, while Colin Rundell made 32 stops in taking the loss for the Saints. St. Norbert was 1-for-4 on the power play, while St. Scholastica was 0-for-3.
