Green Knights Place Second at UW-Oshkosh Invite

OSHKOSH - St. Norbert College finished in second place among eight teams at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational at Kolf Sports Center.

The Green Knights compiled 136 points, which only trailed host Oshkosh's 262.5 points. St. Norbert was well ahead of third-place Ripon College, which had 63.5 points.

St. Norbert swept the top five spots in the 3,000-meter run. Elvia Martinez was first in 11:23.11, followed by Erika Quinn in second in 11:36.37. Jamie Karrels was third in 11:44.48, followed by Lauren Janes in fourth at 11:48.04 and Kayle Beck in fifth in 12:11.02.

The Green Knights also claimed three of the top five spots in the long jump. Kalee Luedtke was first with a leap of 5.00 meters, while Grace Petry was third with a distance of 4.76 meters and Brianna Bittner was fifth with a jump of 4.74 meters.

Ashley Bondarowicz won the triple jump with a distance of 10.35 meters. Luedtke was fourth with 9.75 meters and Bittner was sixth with a distance of 9.61 meters.

The 4x400-meter relay of Kari Braatz, Erin McShea, Jaclyn Kerner and Calli Nonnemacher won the event with a time of 4:07.56, almost four full seconds ahead of runner-up Oshkosh.

Kerner won the 400-meter run with a time of 1:00.49. Karissa Kaiser was seventh with a time of 1:03.66, while Hannah Andrekus was eighth with a time of 1:04.48.

Liz LeCaptain was second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.06 seconds. Teammates Mara Aparnieks and Angel Hon were seventh and eighth, respectively, with times of 8.38 and 8.52 seconds.

Nicole Vanderlin placed second in the high jump with a distance of 1.62 meters.

Braatz was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 27.31 seconds, nosing out Kerner, who had the same time, at the line for sixth. Hon was eighth in 27.66 seconds.

Taylor Wenzel was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.12 seconds, and Amanda Yenter was eighth in 10.34 seconds.

Jenne Wiedemeier was fifth in the pole vault with a height of 2.74 meters, while Allyson Klein (2.59 meters) was seventh and Emily Spone (2.28 meters) was eighth.

Martinez was seventh in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:32.36, followed by Charlotte Walsh in eighth with a time of 5:32.96.
