STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College ended the regular season on a positive note with a 3-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win over UW-Stevens Point at Willett Arena.

It was the Green Knights' final trip to Willett Arena to play their long-time rival before the Pointers and four other University of Wisconsin System schools depart after this season for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The game was the 68th in the St. Norbert-Stevens Point series, the most played opponent for the Green Knights. St. Norbert leads the series 44-19-5.

St. Norbert (19-5-1, 13-4-1 NCHA) took control of the game in the first two periods. Cody Keefer scored his 15th goal of the season with a marker at the 18:52 mark of the first period. Chris Rial gave the Green Knights a 2-0 lead when he scored for the fifth time this season with 9:50 elapsed in the second period.

The Pointers (14-10-1, 8-9-1) scored for the first time in three games against St. Norbert late in the third period to make it 2-1. St. Norbert's Noah Nemgar was whistled for interference at 13:27, and Kyle Heck converted the power-play chance at 14:32.

St. Norbert had to sweat out the final two-plus minutes when Joe Perry was called for slashing at 17:41. The Green Knights killed off the penalty, which included 18 seconds of 6-on-4 extra attacker time. Carl Ekstrom registered an empty-net goal with sixth-tenths of a second remaining for the game's final goal.

St. Norbert outshot Stevens Point 25-24, but the Pointers held a 12-4 edge in the third period. The Green Knights were 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Pointers were 1-for-5. David Jacobson made 23 saves for the Green Knights, while Brandon Jaeger made 22 saves for the Pointers.
