Green Knights in Second Place After Day One at MWC Indoor Meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College registered 44 points to sit in second place after the first day of the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship at Monmouth College's Huff Athletic Center.

Monmouth leads the league after day one with 87 points. The Green Knights lead third-place Ripon College by eight points, with the Red Hawks owning 36 points.

St. Norbert won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay. The quartet of Jaclyn Kerner, Calli Nonnemacher, Karissa Kaiser and Erin McShea won with a time of 4:16.90.

Nicole Vanderlin claimed the conference championship in the high jump, clearing a height of 5 feet 5 inches in just one attempt. Kaiser was sixth in the event with a height of 4-11.

The 4x200-meter relay of Kerner, Angel Hon, Liz LeCaptain and Mara Aparnieks was second with a time of 1:47.17.

Charlotte Walsh was fourth in the 1-mile run at 5:19.01, and Hannah Andrekus was sixth in 5:21.91.

Elvia Martinez place sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:55.60, and Amanda Whipple was seventh at 19:12.61.
