St. Norbert Finishes Third at MWC Tournament

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished third at the 2008 Midwest Conference women's softball championship following a 16-0 loss at Lake Forest College.

The Green Knights, who won the league title in 2007, mustered just one hit in the game - a Kim Sawyer single in the fourth inning. St. Norbert finishes its season 16-16.

Lake Forest scored five times in the first, three times in the second and put the game away for good with an eight-run third. The Foresters banged out 13 hits against three St. Norbert pitchers and left just two runners on base.

Kayla Krueger took the loss for St. Norbert, facing six batters in the first inning and didn't record an out. She allowed five runs on four hits.

Jeannette Andresen did not register a walk or a strikeout in twirling the one-hitter for the Foresters (20-13).
