BABSON PARK, Fla. - St. Norbert College opened the 2013 season with its first Opening Day doubleheader sweep since 2005 with wins of 7-0 and 2-1 over Dickinson College at Webber International University.

The Green Knights got a pair of strong pitching performances, getting complete-game wins from Kevin Nutley and Matt Freeman. Nutley allowed five hits with three walks and six strikeouts in the opener, while Freeman yielded five hits with no walks and four strikeouts in the nightcap.

St. Norbert scored three times in the top of the first inning, paced by Nick Pierre's two-run triple and Alex Larsen's RBI single. Troy Rottier recorded an RBI groundout in the second inning. Pierre hit a two-run double in the seventh inning, and he later scored on an infield error.

Pierre finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored, while Chad Ljunggren was 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. Travis Mason was 2-for-4.

St. Norbert finished off the sweep with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Rottier led off the inning with a double and advanced to third base on a wild pitch with nobody out. Following a pair of intentional walks, Pierre's single to right field scored the winning run.

The Green Knights, who left 12 runners on base in the nightcap, both had 2-for-3 performances from Rottier and Larsen.
