ST. LOUIS - St. Norbert College fell victim to an unproductive offense as the Green Knights dropped a pair of games, falling 2-1 to Illinois Wesleyan University and 1-0 to Washington University. The games were played at Washington's Kelly Field.

The Green Knights (7-4) scored in the first inning against No. 24-ranked Illinois Wesleyan but didn't score again the rest of the afternoon. Alex Larsen's infield single plated Troy Rottier with two outs in the inning, but St. Norbert left the bases loaded. Illinois Wesleyan scored single runs in the second and ninth innings to eke out the win.

Kevin Nutley took the hard-luck loss, scattering 10 hits with four walks and three strikeouts in a complete-game effort. Jeff Johnson got the win for the Titans, allowing five hits with two walks and 11 strikeouts. Rottier was 2-for-4 for St. Norbert.

St. Norbert and Washington (11-6) battled into the eighth inning scoreless until the Bears registered an unearned run in the bottom of the frame. St. Norbert's best scoring chance when it loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh, but a strikeout and a groundout ended the threat.

Matt Freeman took the loss for St. Norbert, allowing six hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Matt Tracy got the win for Washington, allowing six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Jose Godinez was 2-for-4 for St. Norbert.

The 1-0 game was St. Norbert's first since a 1-0 win over Ripon on May 4, 2007.
