Green Knights Place Ninth at Ashford Invite

RIVERSIDE, Iowa - St. Norbert College began the spring portion of its 2012-13 season with a ninth-place finish among 12 teams at the Ashford University Spring Invitational at Blue Top Ridge Golf Club.

The Green Knights carded a total score of 639 in the 36-hole event, firing a 307 the first day before finishing with a 332 in blustery conditions on the second day. Bellevue University won the meet with a 288-307--595.

Nic Vrubley was St. Norbert's top finisher, tying for 29th place with a 74-82--156. Jacob Hebbard tied for 37th place with a 78-81--159. Brandon Gries was tied for 46th with an 80-82--162, while Nick Mueller was tied for 52nd place wiht a 77-87--164. Evan Mass was 61st with a 78-94--172.

Thailer Carlson of AIB College of Business won the individual championship with an even-par score of 73-71--144.
