St. Norbert Splits at Home

DE PERE - St. Norbert College split a pair of dual matches at the Green Bay Tennis Center, topping UW-River Falls 6-3 before falling to Carthage College 8-1.

St. Norbert (7-12) jumped out to a 2-1 lead against River Falls after doubles play. Nancy Chybowski and Maria Slusarek defeated Jenny Paxton and Brittany Mohn 8-1 at No. 1. Ariel Bloniarz and Emily Rasmussen topped Makayla Newberry and Hannah Klimek 8-3 at No. 2.

Chybowski won at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Kelsey Hochberger. Bloniarz defeated Jodi VanDeRiet 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3, while Lizzy Tews topped Klimek 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Rasmussen knocked off Cassie Swenson 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.

Against Carthage, Chybowski and Slusarek defeated Bari Reynolds and Haleigh McPeek 9-7 at No. 1 doubles for St. Norbert's lone win over the Lady Reds.
