Offense Sputters In Loss to Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College mustered just six hits and dropped a 4-2 non-conference game to Monmouth College at Glasgow Field.

The Green Knights (12-6) hit into two double plays and stranded 11 baseunners, and never led in the game. Monmouth (5-14) plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to snap a 2-2 tie.

Nick Pierre had an RBI single in the sixth and Chad Ljunggren an RBI groundout in the seventh for St. Norbert's only scoring. Jose Godinez was 2-for-4 for St. Norbert.

Nate Schadrie took the loss for St. Norbert, throwing one inning of relief, allowing four hits and two runs. Kevin Nutley started and got a no-decision, allowing two unearned runs on three hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in six innings.
