Green Knights Eke Way to Invitational Title

DE PERE - St. Norbert College sneaked out a team championship in the St. Norbert College Invitational by a very narrow margin in the nine-team event at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 191.5 points to slip past College of St. Scholastica, which was second with 190 points. Carroll University was a distant third with 190 points.

Liz LeCaptain won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.81 seconds, and finished second in the 200-meter dash in 26.70 seconds.

Taylor Wenzel was first in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.48 seconds, and was third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.27.

Sweeping the top three spots in the 10,000-meter run were Erika Quinn, Lauren Janes and Jamie Karrels. They finished with respective times of 42:06.15, 43:06.29 and 43:13.72.

Hannah Andrekus won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.84. Nicole Vanderlin won the high jump with a height of 5 feet 3 inches.

Mara Aparnieks, Kari Braatz, Angel Hon and LeCaptain won the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 49.99 seconds.

Emily Erickson was second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:07.09. Jaclyn Kerner placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.60 seconds.

Finishing third in the 100-meter dash was Aparnieks, who had a time of 13.10 seconds. Charlotte Walsh was third in the 5,000-meter run in 18:56.52. Liz Hietpas was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:41.25. Kalee Luedtke was third in the long jump at 16-11 1/8.
