St. Norbert Finishes Second at Wisconsin Private College Invite

DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't quite win its first Wisconsin Private College Invitational title since 1992 when it finished second at the annual meet, held this year at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 198 points, finishing just behind Carthage College's 206.5 points. St. Norbert finished well ahead of third-place Ripon College, which had 131 points. It was Carthage's ninth Private College Invitational title in the last 11 years.

Liz LeCaptain won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.55 seconds. Mara Aparnieks was second with a time of 12.80 seconds. Nicole Vanderlin claimed the title in the high jump with a height of 5 feet 5 3/4 inches.

Kyra VandenHeuvel won the triple jump with a school-record distance of 36-2 1/4, breaking a 22-year-old mark. Kalee Luedtke was third in the event with a distance of 34-11 3/4. Luedtke finished second in the long jump at 17-6, with VandenHeuvel finished third recording the same distance.

The 4x100-meter relay team won with a time of 49.94 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay also took first with a time of 4:10.29.

Kaylee Beck finished second in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 46:49.53. Liz Hietpas was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:21.02, while Lauren Janes was third in 12:47.04. Taylor Wenzel was second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 70.19 seconds.

Jaclyn Kerner was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.54 seconds.

Karissa Kaiser was third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 62.76 seconds, Wenzel was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.75 seconds.
