DE PERE - St. Norbert College junior infielder Travis Mason has been named to the first team of the Capital One NCAA Division III Baseball Academic All-District VI squad, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Mason, a De Pere native, owns a perfect 4.00 grade point average with a major in business administration. Mason is currently hitting .333 this season for the Green Knights, who are 22-10. Mason, a first-team All-Midwest Conference and third-team All-Central Region selection in 2012, also has nine doubles, four triples, three home runs and 25 runs batted in with 33 runs scored.

Mason is a team captain this season. He has earned the Financial Executives International Student Achievenment Award, which is awarded to the top finance student at St. Norbert College. He is also a volunteer with Green Bay Black Knights youth baseball, the Pink Flamingo charity softball tournament in De Pere and Bowl for Kids Sake.

To be eligible for national or regional selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team, scheduled to be announced May 29, is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally. All first-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
