ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College made history by winning its first Midwest Conference championship in men's golf with a five-stroke win at the 2013 MWC Championship held at Aldeen Golf Club.

The Green Knights, who finished in a tie for second place last season, improved on their three-stroke lead on Monmouth College by topping the Scots by two strokes in the final round. St. Norbert finished the 45-hole tournament (play was limited to nine holes on day two) with a 311-159-313--783. Monmouth finished with a 314-159-315--788. Carroll University, the two-time defending MWC champion, made a late Saturday charge but finished eight shots off the pace at 322-163-306--791.
