Green Knights Tied for 29th Place After Day 1 at NCAA Championship

DESTIN, Fla. - St. Norbert College is tied for 29th out of 41 teams after the first day of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

The Green Knights fired a 40-over par 328 on The Links course at Sandestin to tie for 29th with Stevenson University. The top 15 teams after Wednesday's second round make the cut to the final two rounds. Guilford College is 15th after the first round at 19-over par. St. Norbert will move to The Raven course on Wednesday for the second round.

Nic Vrubley led the Green Knights with a 4-over par 76 to sit in a tie for 48th place out of 210 individuals. Vrubley had three birdies, and had only one double bogey.

Brandon Gries shot 9-over par with an 81, posting two birdies. Jacob Hebbard carded an 11-over par 83, while Nick Roelse shot a 16-over 88. Nick Mueller finished with a 23-over par 95.

Methodist University is the first-round leader with a 2-over par 290. Methodist's Jeff Wells is the individual leader with a 3-under par 69.
