St. Norbert Misses Cut at NCAA Golf Championship

DESTIN, Fla. - St. Norbert College finished tied for 34th of 41 teams after missing the cut following the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

The Green Knights carded a 47-over par 331 on par 71 The Raven course at Sandestin to finished deadlocked with Rhode Island College for 34th place at 87 strokes over par. The top 15 teams made the cut for the final two rounds, with the cut coming at 34-over par.

Brandon Gries had St. Norbert's top round on Wednesday, shooting a 9-over par 80, getting a 40 on each nine. Gries had two birdies, and was at 1-over par through seven holes. Gries was 18-over par for the tournament.

Nic Vrubley finished as the Green Knights top scorer, at 17-over par to finished tied for 118th place. Vrubley was at 4-over par through 13 holes but finished nine strokes over par through the final five holes to finished with a round of 84.

Jacob Hebbard finished at 26-over par overall, and had a second-round score of 86. Hebbard was at 5-over par through 13 holes but finished 15-over for the round.

Nick Roelse totaled an 87 in the second round, and finished 32-over par for the tournament. Nick Mueller had the Green Knights' second-best round on Wednesday, finishing with a 10-over 39. Mueller also had two birdies.
