DE PERE - St. Norbert College picked up an important win in the Midwest Conference standings when it tipped Lawrence University 1-0 at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (6-6-2, 5-1 MWC) kept pace with the top of the conference in the hunt for a potential berth in the four-team MWC Tournament. Lawrence fell to 5-7-1, 3-3.

St. Norbert scored the game's only goal when Sam Lamers scored from 10 yards out after Lawrence goalkeeper Joe Krivit came forward off the line, with Lamers finishing in the right side of the net. Lamers' goal was unassisted and his fourth of the season.

Lawrence's best scoring chance came in the 68th minute, but St. Norbert goalkeeper Sam Lisheron made a quality save to keep the Vikings off the board.

St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 20-7. Lisheron made four saves to earn his first collegiate shutout. Krivit made seven stops for the Vikings.
