APPLETON - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Midwest Conference with a 17-6 win over Lawrence University at Banta Bowl. The game was a conference contest for the Green Knights (6-1, 6-0 MWC), while it was a non-conference game for the Vikings (0-6).

Lawrence, which lost 79-7 to St. Norbert in De Pere last season, took a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter. Dalton Sendelbach scored on a 1-yard run with 13:09 left before halftime to finish off a 41-yard drive.

Both teams traded punts before St. Norbert pulled ahead. Three Brandon Carter runs to open the drive set up a 41-yard touchdown pass from James Tringali to Brian Fliess with 5:09 left in the second quarter.

The Green Knights scored on the opening possession of the second half. St. Norbert gained four first downs before scoring on a 3-yard touchdown run by Zach Broberg, which was set up by a Lawrence pass interference penalty, to lead 14-6 with 11:01 left in the quarter.

Lawrence would get no deeper penetration than the St. Norbert 38-yard line before the Green Knights sealed the win with a Randy Hill 30-yard field goal with 2:22 remaining.

St. Norbert outgained Lawrence 319-268. Broberg rushed for 86 yards on 19 carries and one touchdown. Tringali completed 13 of 27 passes for 177 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Brian Fliess caught six passes for 103 yards and one touchdown.

Luke Barthelmess led Lawrence offensively by completed 16 of 26 passes for 190 yards. He also had a team-high 21 yards rushing on 11 carries. Dan Dubnicka caught seven passes for 110 yards.
