DE PERE - St. Norbert College's men's soccer team clinched its first berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament since 2009 with a 3-0 win over Grinnell College in a MWC match at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (8-7-2, 7-2 MWC) and Pioneers (7-10, 5-4) were scoreless until St. Norbert's Sam Lamers finished a blast into the upper-right corner of the net at the 75 minutes 21 seconds mark. Just 33 seconds later, Kirill Vasilenko finished a solid pass from Joe Fabich for a 2-0 advantage.

St. Norbert salted the match away when Nathan Angell finished far post at the 86:52 mark. Vasilenko assisted on both Angell's and Lamers' goals.

St. Norbert, which will play in the MWC Tournament at a site to be determined on Nov. 8-9, outshot Grinnell 21-8. Scott Faul made five saves to post the shutout for the Green Knights, while Major May made nine stops for the Pioneers.
