Green Knights Tumble in MWC Title Match

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College dropped the championship match of the Midwest Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament to Cornell College at the Multi-Sport Center.

The Green Knights fell to the nationally ranked Rams 25-17, 25-14, 25-19. St. Norbert ends its season 16-16, winning 10 of its last 13 matches after a 6-13 start. Cornell, ranked No. 20 in the AVCA Division III Top 25, advances to the NCAA Division III Tournament 28-3.

St. Norbert finished with just 20 kills in the match against 17 errors in 89 attempts for a hitting percentage of .034. Anika Johnson finished with seven kills, while Heidi Spies totaled five kills and two service aces. Abby West had 12 assists and seven digs.

Cornell hit .252, with 47 kills and 19 errors in 111 attempts. Kathleen O'Connor had 15 kills, while Taylor Dicus added 12 kills. Kelsey Gaillot had 22 assists, while Kylea Weber had 16 digs.
