DE PERE - St. Norbert College claimed all the major honors doled out by the Midwest Conference on its women's soccer All-Conference team.

Junior forward Katie Vanden Avond was named MWC Offensive Player of the Year, senior defender Zoe Kurth was picked MWC Defensive Player of the Year, and coach Dennis Detrie was selected MWC Coach of the Year. Vanden Avond has been named Offensive Player of the Year all three seasons she has played, while Kurth and Detrie both won their awards previously in 2011.

Vanden Avond and Kurth both earned first-team All-MWC honors. Junior forward Kaitlin Schmitz and senior defender Stephanie Pedretti both gained second-team all-conference accolades.

Vanden Avond posted a Division III-best 37 goals and seven assists for 81 points this season. Her 37 goals are tied for fifth-most in a season in Division III history. Vanden Avond's 91 career goals are the most among any active player at all three NCAA divisions.

Kurth totaled six goals and six assists for 18 points this season, good for third on the team. She also finished with three game-winning goals.

Schmitz registered eight goals and eight assists for 24 points, finishing second on the squad in points while her assist total was a team-high high.

Pedretti ended the year with one goal and three assists for five points. Her one goal this season was the first goal in St. Norbert's 2-0 win over Monmouth in the MWC Tournametn championship game.

St. Norbert finished 14-5-2 and won the Midwest Conference regular-season and tournament championships. The Green Knights led No. 1-ranked Washington (Mo.) University 2-0 before falling to the Bears 5-2 in a first-round NCAA Division III Tournament game.
