St. Norbert Stumbles in Loss to St. Scholastica

WAUSAU - St. Norbert College dropped its first game of the season when it fell 4-2 to the College of St. Scholastica in a non-conference game at "College Hockey Night in Wausau" at Marathon Park.

The Green Knights (9-1) fell behind 4-0 before attempting to mount a late comeback.

St. Scholastica (6-1-2) took a 1-0 lead after the first period when Chad Golanowski scored during a 4-on-4 situation at the 7:25 mark of the frame.

The Saints scored three straight goals in the second period to take command. Brandon Millin scored at 5:30, Keegan Bruce at 12:41 and Golanowski finished shorthanded at 18:08.

Cullen Bradshaw scored a power-play goal at 18:21 of the second to cut the deficit to 4-1, and Patrick McCadden scored at 13:55 of the third period for the game's final markers.

St. Norbert was 1-for-6 on the power play. The Green Knights had 1:20 of a 5-on-3 power-play advantage midway through the first period but came up empty, and also had a full two minutes coming off Bradshaw's goal but didn't score.

Colin Rundell made 39 saves for the Saints. Tony Kujava made 23 stops. St. Scholastica was 0-for-1 on the power play.
