Green Knights Cruise to Win Over Lake Forest

DE PERE - St. Norbert College used an early 16-0 run to take command and roll to a 73-50 Midwest Conference win over Lake Forest College at Schuldes Sports Center.

Lake Forest opened the game with a 3-pointer by Gina Ambrose, but after that it was all St. Norbert (4-1, 1-0 MWC). The Green Knights went on a 16-0 run over the next 5:25 to take control. Brianna Byrne's conventional three-point play at 14:02 gave the Green Knights 13-3 lead.

The Foresters (0-7, 0-3) cut the deficit to 24-15 with 6:33 left in the first half, but St. Norbert closed the half on a 12-5 run to lead 36-20 at the break.

St. Norbert led by as many as 28 points twice in the second half.

Byrne led St. Norbert in scoring with 17 points and six rebounds. Stephanie Weigman posted 12 points, while Lana Tomashek had six points, six rebounds and nine assists. The Green Knights shot 42.9 percent (27-for-63) from the floor.

Lake Forest shot 34.9 percent (15-for-43) from the floor. Ambrose and Sam Schuring each had eight points to lead the Foresters.
