Vanden Avond Named Second-Team All-American by D3soccer.com

DE PERE - St. Norbert College junior forward Katie Vanden Avond was selected a second-team All-America honoree by D3soccer.com. It is her first All-America honor.

Vanden Avond, a De Pere native, was named Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season. Vanden Avond posted 37 goals and seven assists for 81 points this season. Her 37 goals are tied for fifth-most in a season in Division III history. Vanden Avond's 91 career goals are the most among any active player at all three NCAA divisions.

Vanden Avond led Division III this season in total goals (37), goals per game (1.76), points (81) and points per game (3.86).

St. Norbert finished this season 14-5-2 and won the Midwest Conference title with an 8-2 mark. The Green Knights won the MWC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time. St. Norbert lost to No. 1-ranked Washington (Mo.) University 5-2 in the first round.
