Second Period Dooms St. Norbert in Loss to UW-Stevens Point

DE PERE - St. Norbert College allowed three second-period goals which proved to be the difference in a 3-1 loss to UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (5-5-1) took the early lead against the Pointers (12-1-1), who are ranked fifth in the USCHO.com Division III Poll. Tarraneh Dadgar scored on a shot from the left circle just 4 minutes 1 second into the game to give St. Norbert an early 1-0 lead. Allie Patrick and Danielle Rozon registered assists on the score.

St. Norbert held an 11-4 shots-on-goal advantage in the first period before Stevens Point answered in the second period. The Pointers converted three odd-man rushes to take the lead. Allie Tanzer scored Stevens Point's first two goals at 7:40 and 11:02, and Janel Winters added the third goal at 19:12.

Stevens Point outshot St. Norbert 29-27, and both teams were 0-for-3 on the power play. Kaley Gibson made 26 saves in the loss for St. Norbert, while Janna Beilke-Skoug made 26 stops for the Pointers.
