St. Norbert Tumbles to UW-River Falls

GREEN BAY - UW-River Falls tipped St. Norbert College 6-3 in a non-conference women's tennis dual match at Western Racquet Club.

The Green Knights (1-1) won two singles matches and one doubles match, and lost a pair of close matches that could have went in their favor.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Kelly Van Handel and Lauren Post beat River Falls' Kathryne Ostrowski and Katie Lynn Anderson by an 8-2 score. The No. 2 doubles match came down to an 8-6 win by River Falls' Stacia Kozel and Cassie Wood over Allyson Yankle and Callie Schroeder.

In singles action, Post beat Wood at No. 2 singles by a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) decision. Yankle defeated Anderosn 7-5, 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Van Handel fell at No. 1 singles to Ostrowski 7-6 (7-1), 6-4.

St. Norbert returns to action Saturday, Sept. 6 with a dual match against Lake Forest College.
