DE PERE - St. Norbert College placed three men's basketball players on the 2014 All-Midwest Conference team, announced today by the league office.

Senior guard Brandon Gries was a first-team All-MWC selection and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Year. Senior guard Kam Cerroni was also a first-team All-MWC selection, while junior forward Andrew Schwoerer was a second-team choice.

Gries, who was also a first-team All-MWC choice in 2012 and 2013, became St. Norbert's first-ever three-time first-team all-conference selection. He joins Nathan Hoffmann (2002) as the Green Knights' only other MWC Player of the Year. Gries enters the NCAA Division III Tournament averaging 16.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Cerroni enters the weekend averaging 16.3 points per game, and leads NCAA Division III in three-point field-goal percentage at 54.7 percent. He has made 93 of 170 attempts from beyond the three-point arc.

Schwoerer averages 16.2 points per game and leads the Green Knights in rebounding at 6.3 per game. Schwoerer is third in Division III in field-goal percentage at 67.4 percent.

St. Norbert coach Gary Grzesk was named MWC Coach of the Year, the third time in his career he has earned the honor.

The Green Knights, ranked No. 5 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, enter Friday's NCAA Tournament game against Ohio Wesleyan University 24-1 overall, and won their fourth MWC championship in five years with an unblemished 18-0 record.
