Green Knights Lose Heartbreaker in NCHA Slaats Cup Final

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to Lake Forest College in the championship game of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Foresters (17-5-3) clinched the NCHA's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament. St. Norbert saw its season end 19-7-2.

St. Norbert held a 2-1 lead late in regulation before the Foresters mounted a comeback. Lake Forest's Sarah Gilbride scored her first goal of the season with 4:16 left in regulation to knot the score.

Lake Forest scored the game-winning goal when Emily Wybo scored at the 4:04 mark of overtime.

The Foresters took the lead when they scored with 9 seconds left in the first period. Laura Reckdenwald scored her fourth goal of the season.

St. Norbert tied the game when Andrea Senne scored her eighth goal of the season at the 3:52 mark of the second period. The Green Knights pulled ahead on Jillian Kosteck's fifth marker of the year, coming at 7:48 of the second period. Laurel Hill assisted on both markers.

Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 37-35. Stacey Dierking made 33 saves for the Foresters, while Kaley Gibson made 34 stops for the Green Knights. Lake Forest was 0-for-5 on the power play, while St. Norber was 0-for-3.
