Green Knights Drop Florida Opener

CLERMONT, Fla. - St. Norbert College was finally able to get on a dry field on its Florida trip and dropped its opener in the Sunshine State 11-6 to Endicott College.

The Green Knights (1-4) took a 5-0 lead after scoring three runs in the first inning and two runs in the second. Abby Gildernick and MacKenzie Hazen had RBI singles in the first inning, while Codi Jenshak had an RBI single in the second inning.

Endicott answered with five runs in the second, one run in the fourth and five runs in the fifth to take an 11-5 lead. The Green Knights scored one run in the top of the seventh on an Endicott error.

JoAnna Ruppa was 3-for-4 with three runs scored for St. Norbert, while Jenshak, Gildernick and Jessica DeMeuse were all 2-for-4.

Morgan Rusch took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts in four innings pitched.
