GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College got a shutout from sophomore lefthander Brett Nohr in the nightcap to help gain a split with Ripon College in a rare twinight Midwest Conference doubleheader at Joannes Stadium. The Green Knights won game two 10-0 after dropping the nightcap 5-1.

Nohr went the distance in the nightcap, scattering 10 hits but did not walk a batter and struck out four in the eight-inning complete game. He was backed by an errorless St. Norbert defense.

St. Norbert (15-12, 6-6 MWC North) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a Spencer Larson RBI single and a Nick Pierre sacrifice fly. Travis Mason hit a solo home run in the third inning for a 3-0 lead, and the Green Knights added two runs later in the frame when a double-play relay throw was not secured.

Chad Ljunggren had an RBI single in the fourth, and Jose Godinez had a two-run double in the eighth. Adam Enwiya had a sacrifice fly in the eighth, and Larson's single ended the game on the 10-run mercy rule.

Ljunggren and Larson were both 2-for-5 for St. Norbert, which had nine hits.

In the opener, Ripon (13-11, 6-2) broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the eighth inning and one run in the ninth inning. The Green Knights scored an unearned run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Ljunggren.

Jake McMahon took the loss, allowing 11 hits with one walk and five strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
