Green Knights Place Third at St. Norbert Invitational

WRIGHTSTOWN - St. Norbert College finished in third place at its own invitational, with 12 teams competing over 36 holes at Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.

The Green Knights carded a 302-317--619 to finish two strokes out of first. Carthage College won the team title with a 303-314--617. Wisconsin Lutheran College was second at 308-310--618. A total of 12 teams and 69 golfers competed.

St. Norbert's Nic Vrubley tied for first place with Carthage's Ryan McGuire. Vrubley shot a 75-73--148, while McGuire carded a 68-80--148.

The Green Knights' Alex Okray placed third overall with a 76-75--151. Jacob Hebbard placed in a tie for fifth with a 73-82--155.

Tony Arnold and Brandon Gries finished in a tie for 36th place. Arnold fired a 78-89--167, while Gries finished with an 80-87--187.

The St. Norbert "B" squad finished in a tie for fourth place in the team standings with a 319-325--644. The St. Norbert "C" team was 11th with a 350-355--705. Nick Mueller was the top finisher on the "B" team with a 79-79--158. Sam Dougherty was the top "C" scorer at 75-83--158. Mueller and Dougherty were part of a tie for 12th place.
