OSHKOSH - St. Norbert College dropped the decisive game of a three-game non-conference series with UW-Oshkosh with a 6-5 loss at Tiedemann Field.

The Green Knights (16-14) almost battled all the way back from a 6-2 deficit incurred after four innings of play. St. Norbert got back into the game with two runs in the fifth inning, getting RBI groundouts from Nick Pierre and Derek Klegin.

St. Norbert had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the top of the eighth inning. Travis Mason's RBI single brought the Green Knights to within 6-5 and kept the bases loaded with nobody out. Oshkosh pitcher Ben Messenger then coaxed an infield foul out and a double play to escape the jam, and the Green Knights went in order in the ninth to end the game.

The Green Knights had six hits in the game, with Nick Pierre going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a triple. Brett Nohr took the loss, allowing six runs - but only one earned - in four innings. Jake McMahon threw four innings of scoreless relief for St. Norbert.
