WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College saw its season end with a 5-1 loss to Concordia University Chicago in an elimination game in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional at UW-Whitewater's Prucha Field at Miller Stadium.

The Green Knights, making their fourth NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, finished the season 24-16.

Concordia (39-6), ranked No. 4 in the D3baseball.com Top 25, jumped out to a 2-0 lead on four hits in the bottom of the second. The Cougars added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

St. Norbert looked to get back into the game in the top of the seventh, loaded the bases with no outs. Adam Enwiya reached on an error, and Troy Rottier and Cameron Jerina both singled. Enwiya was cut down trying to score on a wild pitch for the first out. After Derek Klegin popped out, Chad Ljunggren's infield single brought in Rottier for the Green Knights' only run.

The Green Knights left two runners on in each of the last two innings but couldn't draw any closer.

St. Norbert had 11 hits but left 12 runners on base. Ljunggren was 3-for-5, while Jerina was 2-for-4 and Alex Larsen 2-for-5.

Matt Freeman took the loss for St. Norbert, allowing nine hits in 5 1/3 innings, walking one and striking out three. Ryan Thorsen got the win for Concordia, scattering nine hits in 7 1/3 innings with two walks and one strikeout.
