Green Knights Tumble in Opener at MSOE

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College dropped its season opener to Milwaukee School of Engineering 4-2 in a non-conference game at Viets Field.
The Raiders jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals in the 10th and 30th minutes. Kaitlin Schmitz halved the deficit with a goal assisted by Fiona Hehir in the 43rd minute, but MSOE took a 3-1 lead into halftime wiht a goal 50 seconds before intermission.
St. Norbert's Shannon Jung scored an unassisted marker at the 54:08 mark, but MSOE salted the game away with Caitlin Liddiard's second goal of the match at 69:28.
MSOE outshot St. Norbert 20-8. Sarah Platzer made five saves for St. Norbert, while Sydney Stephens made three saves for the Raiders.
